Records include six volumes containing membership lists and minutes of meetings from 1922-1950; officers' correspondence and accounts for the same period; and yearbooks and programs, primarily from the 1950s. In addition to gardening, the club engaged in civic activities focused on conservation and beautification in Ashland, Va. Collection includes information on the campaign to regulate billboards in Virginia, American Seeds for British Soil, proposals and resignations of members, and communications with outside speakers, other local garden clubs, and the Garden Club of Virginia.
